Installation issues

Seeing a security warning when you try to install or open Quickfix AI? That's completely normal—both Mac and Windows show these warnings for software downloaded from the web. The good news is it's easy to get past them, and you only have to do it once. This page shows you exactly what to do for each type of warning you might encounter.

Installation troubleshooting

Modern operating systems have built-in security features that may require extra steps when installing software downloaded from the internet. This is normal and expected—here's how to handle the most common situations.

macOS Gatekeeper warnings

"Cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer" — This is a standard macOS security warning. Quickfix AI is properly signed and notarized by Apple, so it's safe to open.

To bypass this warning, open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS), go to Privacy & Security, scroll down to find the blocked app message, and click "Open Anyway." Enter your password if prompted. Alternatively, you can right-click (or Control-click) Quickfix AI in Applications and select "Open"—this only needs to be done once.

Windows SmartScreen warnings

"Windows protected your PC" — This appears for newer software that hasn't built up reputation yet. Quickfix AI is signed with an EV certificate, so it's safe to proceed.

Click "More info" in the SmartScreen dialog, then click "Run anyway." As more users install Quickfix AI, SmartScreen's reputation system will eventually stop showing this warning.

Antivirus false positives

Some antivirus programs may flag Quickfix AI as suspicious because it collects system information—which is exactly what a diagnostic tool is supposed to do. This is a false positive.

Verify authenticity: On macOS, check "Get Info" for "Signed by: Developer ID Application: Micropages BV." On Windows, check Properties → Digital Signatures for "Micropages BV."

To use Quickfix AI with your antivirus, open your antivirus software, find the quarantine or blocked items section, restore Quickfix AI if it was quarantined, and add it to your whitelist or allowed list.

Permission issues

On macOS, if you see permission errors when moving the app to Applications, make sure you're dragging to your user's Applications folder rather than the system-level one. Enter your administrator password if prompted.

On Windows, Quickfix AI should not require administrator access to install or run. If you're unexpectedly prompted for admin rights, verify you downloaded the installer from quickfix.ai/download and check its digital signature to ensure it's authentic.

Corrupted download

If the installer seems corrupted or won't open properly, delete the downloaded file, clear your browser's cache, and download again from quickfix.ai/download. If problems persist, try using a different browser.

If you've tried these solutions and still can't install Quickfix AI, check our status page for any known issues, or contact support with your OS version and the specific error message you're seeing.
