Quick vs advanced scans

Last updated February 4, 2026

Quickfix AI gives you two ways to check your computer's health. Quick scans take about 30 seconds and cover the essentials—perfect for routine checkups or when you just want a fast answer. Advanced scans take a bit longer but give you the complete picture, including your internet speed, all your connected devices, and what software is running. Choose based on how much detail you need.

Choosing the right scan

Quickfix AI offers two scan modes designed for different situations. Understanding when to use each helps you get the most out of your diagnostics without spending more time than necessary.

Quick Scan ~30 sec
  • Routine health checks
  • Verify a fix worked
  • Quick overview for troubleshooting
  • Regular monitoring
Advanced Scan 1-2 min
  • Troubleshooting specific issues
  • Evaluating used computers
  • Complete system inventory
  • Preparing info for tech support

Quick scan

The Quick scan is designed for routine health checks and fast answers. In about 30 seconds, it examines your core hardware:

CPU Model, usage, temperature
Memory Capacity, usage, pressure
Storage Space, type, health
Battery Charge, cycles, condition
GPU & Displays Model, resolution, refresh rate
WiFi Connection status, signal strength

Advanced scan

The Advanced scan includes everything from the Quick scan plus a complete peripheral inventory, software analysis, and network performance test:

  • All USB devices and hubs
  • Bluetooth peripherals with connection status
  • Audio input/output devices and printers
  • All running processes (CPU and memory usage)
  • Complete inventory of installed applications
  • Network quality test (download/upload speeds, latency, jitter)
Tip: If you're contacting support about an issue, running an Advanced scan first gives them the most complete picture to work with. The comprehensive data also makes the AI assistant more helpful.
