Printer offlineMediumPrinter offline
What this error means
This message means Quickfix AI cannot reach your printer right now. The printer may be turned off, disconnected from Wi‑Fi or the cable, paused, or set to offline on your device. It often appears when you try to print and the printer stops responding.
On Windows and macOS, the cause is usually a connection or queue problem rather than a serious fault with the printer itself.
Common causes
- 1The printer is powered off, asleep, or unplugged
- 2The printer is not connected to the correct Wi-Fi network or cable
- 3The print queue is paused or stuck
- 4The printer was set to use offline mode on your computer
How to fix it
- Check the printer itself. Make sure it is turned on, has no warning lights, and is not showing an error on its screen. If it has been idle, press a button or open and close the paper tray to wake it up.
- Confirm the connection. If you use a cable, make sure it is firmly connected at both ends. If you use Wi-Fi, check that the printer and your computer are on the same network.
- Restart the printer and your device. Turn the printer off, wait about 10 seconds, then turn it back on. Restart your Windows or macOS device as well.
- Clear any stuck print jobs. Open the printer queue and cancel jobs that are paused or stuck. Then try printing a small test page again.
- Make sure the printer is not set to offline. In your printer settings, look for an option that keeps the printer offline or paused and turn it off if it is enabled.
- Reconnect the printer if needed. If the printer still appears offline, remove it from your printer list and add it again so your device can find it fresh.

When to seek help
You should seek help if the printer stays offline after restarting both devices, you cannot connect it to any network, or the printer shows a hardware warning such as a paper jam, ink system failure, or network fault. If this happens on multiple computers or phones, the printer itself may need service. Contact the printer maker or Quickfix support if you are unsure which step to try next.
