Google Play services keeps stoppingMediumGoogle Play services keeps stopping
What this error means
This message means Google Play services is crashing or failing to run in the background on your Android device. You may see repeated pop-ups, apps may not open correctly, or sign-in, location, notifications, and updates may stop working until the issue is fixed.
Common causes
- 1A temporary software glitch after an update or app install
- 2Corrupted cache or data for Google Play services or Google Play Store
- 3Outdated Android system software or Google components
- 4Low storage space or another app interfering with Google Play services
- 5A network problem or bad Wi-Fi connection causing repeated failures
How to fix it
- Restart your phone. A simple restart can clear temporary crashes. If the message comes back right away, continue with the next steps.
- Check for Android updates. Open your phone’s Settings, look for System update or Software update, and install anything available. Updates often include fixes for Google services.
- Clear the cache for Google Play services and Google Play Store. Go to Settings > Apps or Apps & notifications, find Google Play services, then choose Storage and clear the cache. Repeat the same for Google Play Store. This removes temporary files without deleting your account.
- Free up storage space. If your phone is nearly full, delete unused apps, large downloads, or old photos and videos. Android and Google services can become unstable when storage is very low.
- Check your internet connection. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or forget and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network. If other apps also fail to load, the connection may be contributing to the crash.
- Restart Google Play Store and related apps. If the pop-up started after a recent app update, close any heavy apps running in the background, then open Google Play Store again and try using the affected app once more.
- If the problem continues, reset network settings or contact support. A network reset can fix broken connectivity settings, but it will remove saved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. If you are not comfortable doing that, reach out to Quickfix support or your device maker for help.

When to seek help
Seek professional help if the message appears constantly even after restarting, clearing cache, updating Android, and checking storage. Also get help if multiple Google apps stop working, your phone becomes very slow or unstable, or you cannot sign in to your account. If you are unsure about resetting network settings, it is safer to ask for assistance first.
