Won't turn onHighWon't turn on
What this error means
This message appears when Quickfix AI detects that your computer is not starting up at all. A computer that won’t turn on may show no lights, no fan noise, no logo, or it may start and then shut off immediately. On Windows and macOS, this usually points to a power, battery, or hardware problem rather than a software issue.
Common causes
- 1The power cable, charger, or power outlet is not supplying power
- 2The battery is fully drained or no longer holding a charge
- 3A display issue makes the computer look off even though it is starting
- 4The device needs a forced restart after a freeze or power fault
- 5There is a hardware problem with the power button, battery, or internal components
How to fix it
- Check the power source. Make sure the power cable or charger is firmly connected to the computer and the wall outlet. If you are using a power strip, try plugging the charger directly into a wall socket.
- Look for any signs of power. Press the power button and check for lights, sounds, fan movement, or a charging indicator. If you see a light but no screen, the computer may be on and the display may be the problem.
- Let it charge for a while. If the battery was deeply drained, leave the computer plugged in for at least 15 to 30 minutes before trying again. For portable Macs and Windows laptops, a completely empty battery can take time before it responds.
- Disconnect accessories and try again. Unplug printers, external drives, USB hubs, and other accessories. Then try turning the computer on again. A faulty accessory can sometimes prevent startup.
- Do a simple power reset. Turn the computer off if it is partially on, disconnect the charger, and hold the power button for about 10 to 15 seconds. Then reconnect power and try turning it on again.
- Test with another charger or outlet if possible. If you have a compatible charger or a different outlet, use it to rule out a bad cable, adapter, or wall socket. Avoid using damaged cords or adapters.
- Get help if it still will not start. If there are still no signs of power after these checks, the problem is likely internal and may need service from the manufacturer or a repair technician.

When to seek help
Seek professional help right away if the computer smells burnt, gets unusually hot, makes clicking or popping sounds, or shows signs of liquid damage. Also get help if the charger or power port is damaged, if the battery is swollen, or if the device still shows no sign of life after trying a known-good charger and outlet. Do not open the computer yourself unless you are trained to do so.
