Bluetooth not workingMediumBluetooth not working
What this error means
This means your device is having trouble turning Bluetooth on, finding nearby accessories, or keeping a Bluetooth connection stable on Windows or macOS. You may notice headphones, mice, keyboards, speakers, or phones do not appear in the list of available devices, disconnect often, or fail to pair.
It often happens after a restart, a system update, low battery on the accessory, or when another wireless setting or app is interfering with the connection.
Common causes
- 1Bluetooth is turned off on the computer or accessory
- 2The accessory is not in pairing mode or is too far away
- 3A temporary Windows or macOS system glitch is blocking Bluetooth
- 4Another device or app is interfering with the connection
- 5The Bluetooth adapter or driver is having a problem
How to fix it
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on. On your computer, open Bluetooth settings, switch Bluetooth off, wait about 10 seconds, then turn it back on. If your headphones, mouse, or keyboard has its own power switch, turn it off and back on too.
- Make sure the accessory is ready to pair. Put the device into pairing mode, keep it close to your computer, and check that its battery is charged. If you are not sure how to enter pairing mode, use the device’s manual or on-screen instructions.
- Remove the device and pair it again. If the accessory is already listed in Bluetooth settings, choose Remove, Forget this device, or a similar option, then add it again from scratch.
- Restart your computer. A restart can clear temporary Bluetooth problems in both Windows and macOS. After it starts up again, try pairing one more time.
- Check for system updates. Install any available Windows or macOS updates, then restart if prompted. Updates often include fixes for wireless and Bluetooth issues.
- Test with another Bluetooth device. Try a different accessory, such as a phone or speaker, to see whether the problem affects only one device or Bluetooth generally. If only one accessory fails, the issue is likely with that device rather than your computer.
- Try Quickfix AI again and, if needed, contact support. If Bluetooth still will not connect after these steps, run another Quickfix scan and save any messages you see. If the issue continues across multiple devices, your Bluetooth adapter or system settings may need deeper troubleshooting.

When to seek help
Seek professional help if Bluetooth has stopped working on every device, the Bluetooth setting disappears entirely, or the problem started after hardware damage, liquid exposure, or a major system update and never recovered. You should also get help if your keyboard or mouse is the only way you can control the computer and Bluetooth will not reconnect, since that can make the device hard to use safely.
