Understanding Your Computer's Health Report
What's in a Health Report?
When you run a Quickfix AI scan, you get a comprehensive overview of your system's health. But what do all those metrics mean? Let's break it down.
CPU Health
Your CPU (processor) is the brain of your computer. Key things to watch:
- Usage: Consistently high usage might indicate runaway processes
- Temperature: Should stay below 80°C under load
- Speed: If it's throttling, you might have cooling issues
Memory (RAM)
RAM is your computer's short-term memory. Issues to look for:
- Usage: If you're consistently above 80%, consider closing apps or upgrading
- Memory pressure: High pressure means your system is struggling
Storage
Your hard drive or SSD stores all your files. Watch for:
- Capacity: Keep at least 10-15% free for optimal performance
- Health: SSDs have a limited lifespan – Quickfix monitors this
Battery (Laptops)
Battery health degrades over time. Key metrics:
- Cycle count: Most batteries last 500-1000 cycles
- Maximum capacity: Below 80% means it might be time to replace
